About The Horses

Horse Boarding, Lessons, Training, and Stallion Standing

Horse Boarding

Full board is $250 per month and includes hay and grain twice daily.

Daily turnout or round pen work.

Stalls will be picked daily, and stripped weekly, or as needed. Stalls are 12x12 and are level and matted.

Barn is well ventilated overhead and has barred fronts and sliding doors.

For all boarders, I will meet your farrier, or the vet, and take care of your horse's needs. If you have a busy schedule, your horse will still be maintained and taken care of.

Boarders will have access to entire facility. Trails, round pen, large outdoor arena, and an indoor riding area coming soon. Locked tack room. Stocks for vet work or problem horses. Furnished office. Clean bathroom with shower.

Lessons

Lessons are offered from beginner to intermediate. Whether you just want to learn to connect with your horse better or you have interests in showing, we can help.

Learn better form and posture.

Learn how to get what you want out of your horse.

Prices vary with needs and whether or not you use your horse or mine.

Training

We offer training in almost every aspect of the horse business. We love to work with babies. It is very important to learn early on that you can't treat a baby like a baby, or you will always have just that, a baby, with the exception that it weighs almost a ton and still thinks it can romp around with you, shove you, and behave pretty much however it thinks it wants to. Babies must be handled delicately in order to keep them in good mind, but most certainly must be handled firmly. Start your foal early, and you will gain all of the benefits for the rest of your relationship together. A well behaved horse is always so much more of a pleasure to be around.

That said, we start from weanlings, on up to whatever you'd like to do with your horse.

We maintain strict ground manners on all our horses, whether they are in training or not. Horses are not allowed to crowd you or walk behind you, or misbehave in general when they are in hand. You are more vulnerable on the ground then even on their backs. Maintain respect and avoid getting hurt.

Have a problem horse? Don't know what to do with him? Let us have a go, we'll do our best. We've certainly had our share of vagrants and rogues. Seldom will you find a truly bad horses. In some cases they have been mistreated, in others they are simply misunderstood or don't understand what is wanted of them. Get to the bottom of his problem before you write him off.

Now we're down to, you have a wonderful horse, she plods down the trail like a pro, you'd just like to go a bit further, take the next step. Maybe polish her up a bit. Set her head. Maybe she just needs a few weeks to bring her over the bit. Maybe she needs to learn to travel better up under herself. Maybe what you think is a big deal or too much trouble, is just to learn simple techniques and better control.

Maybe you'd even like to start exploring the show ring. Whatever you have in mind, I'll do my best to help, and if I think I can't help you, I'll give you and honest opinion and refer you to someone who can. I know lots of people with lots of knowledge.

All training costs include full board and lessons with your horse. Training is $450 per month. This is my passion, not my job

Stallion Handling and Standing

I have extensive experience with stallions and, frankly unlike some people, I really enjoy them. Yes, most of them are a bit difficult, and require a little more patience and handling. But for the most part, they have amazing personalities when you get to know them. They are so much more alive and vibrant, or so it seems. Stallions are always welcome at Linger Longer Farm. But they will only be kept at full board. No pasture board available to avoid accidents with the other horses.

Whether you just need a place to keep your boy, or are currently standing him, or interested in standing him, we can help. I have breeding experience and will gladly maintain your stallion's breeding program. I will handle the mares, tease, and live cover the mares.

Mare care will be $15 per day to all mare owners.

If you choose to have me manage your breeding program, I will also handle all your online advertising, included in the price. I will advertise on my farm website, and on other free sites. I will build and maintain a personal webpage for your stallion as long as he stands with us.

I will live cover only. If you wish to collect, this will be up to you. You will need to provide your own mount, unless you are lucky enough to have a boy who collects on all fours of course.

Stallions just on board-$250 per month

Stallions standing here, you maintaining the program-$300 per month plus mare care (It will be up to you to collect the mare charges from that respective owner and refund them to me)

Stallions standing under my program-$375 per month Please review all benefits to this!
